S.P.I.C.E.
Dr. Terri Kennedy resumes her work with S.P.I.C.E. (Supporting Pre-Conception Individuals through Cultural, Cooking, and Coping Essentials). She will offer two more modules as their nutrition expert providing education and demonstrations to the women in the program. The program is being administered through CAMBA, one of Brooklyn's largest, most comprehensive social service agencies. The intention is to address the pre-conception health of the most at-risk Caribbean, African-American, African, and Latina women in central Brooklyn as a preventive measure to instill healthy habits that would continue when and if these women become pregnant.

Yoga - The Science Behind the Benefits
Dr. Terri Kennedy will participate in a panel entitled, "Yoga - The Science Behind the Benefits" at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Sponsored by Yoga Alliance, this breakfast will also feature Rachel Permuth-Levine, Ph.D, MSPH, Deputy Director of Strategic and Innovative Programs at the National Institutes of Health, as well as Sat Bir S. Khalsa, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. They will discuss yoga and its benefits to overall wellness, role in preventative health care, use as a CAM therapy and clinical effectiveness.

Love Your Heart Symposium 
Dr. Terri Kennedy will participate in the symposium "Love Your Heart: Cardiometabolic Disease in Women of Color." The event is sponsored by The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. - Manhattan Chapter (NCBW) and will be held at Harlem Hospital. Dr. Kennedy will be offering advice on how to make heart-healthy lifestyle choices.

The 2009 Abyssinian Health Ministry Lenten Program
These tumultuous times require extraordinary efforts to remain in faith and know that better days are ahead. As an offering of our support, Dr. Terri Kennedy will be leading two Power Living® signature programs for The 2009 Abyssinian Health Ministry Lenten Program - combining our Seven-Day PWR® Detox with our 40 Days to Power Living® programs. There will be in-person sessions at Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, as well as teleclasses. Integrative Healthcare Symposium
The Integrative Healthcare Symposium is a gathering of influential and inspiring practitioners and healthcare professionals in integrative medicine and offers informational programs, updates on evidence-based research, and peer-to peer networking. On February 19th from 4:45pm - 6pm, Dr. Terri Kennedy will be moderating a panel entitled "From Local to Global: Nursing Leadership for Change." Dr. Terri Kennedy will do red carpet interviews for HealthCorps' Annual Green Garden Gala. The event will raise funds to expand HealthCorps' groundbreaking in-school health educational and mentoring program, which is growing across the country.
