From February 25th through February 27th, 2009, Dr. Terri Kennedy will be participating in the Summit on Integrative Medicine and the Health of the Public which will take place at the National Academy of Sciences Building in DC. It is a forum created to discuss integrating health and health care, including the overall vision for an integrated healthcare system, the various models of interdisciplinary prevention-oriented care, the scientific issues, the economic stakes involved, as well as the education necessary for caregivers, researchers and the public.

On February 23rd, 2009, Dr. Terri Kennedy will be the keynote speaker for the New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists Leadership Development Conference. The Council represents New York State pharmacists who practice in ambulatory, long term, managed, home and acute care settings. Dr. Kennedy will be speaking on "Becoming a PWR® Leader: Serving Up Success." To find out more about the organization, click here.

- On February 19th and 20th, 2009, Dr. Terri Kennedy will be participating in the Integrative Healthcare Symposium in New York. The event is a gathering of influential and inspiring practitioners and healthcare professionals in integrative medicine and offers informational programs, updates on evidence-based research, and peer-to peer networking. On February 19th from 4:45pm - 6pm, Dr. Kennedy will be moderating a panel entitled "From Local to Global: Nursing Leadership for Change." Panelists include: Barbara Dossey, PhD, RN; Barbara Sattler, PhD, RN; Dorothy Larkin, PhD, RN; Mary Jo Kreitzer, PhD, RN. From January 16, 2009 through January 19th, 2009, Dr. Terri Kennedy will be participating in the 6th Annual Yoga Journal San Francisco Conference being held at the Hyatt Regency. She will be moderating a Continuing Education panel entitled "The Business of Being a Yoga Teacher," with Jason Crandell, Pretzel France, Cyndi Lee, and Rogelio Nunez. On Thursday, December 11th, 2008, Dr. Terri Kennedy participated in the Massachusetts Conference for Women, hosted in conjunction with the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women. It is a non-profit, non-partisan, one-day event where Massachusetts women can connect, learn practical and professional strategies from nationally recognized experts, and network with peers. Held at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, it attracted over 5,000 participants. Dr. Kennedy was on a panel entitled "The New Healthy You: Finally Making the Change." She joined panelists Dr. Celeste Robb Nicholson, founding Editor-in-Chief of Harvard Women's Health Watch and Demie Stathoplos, Health & Healing Director at Canyon Ranch. She also spoke at the State Street breakfast for over 700 of the attendees. Other notable speakers at the conference included Marianne Williamson and Holly Robinson Peete.

Dr. Terri Kennedy joins the Education Working Group for the Academic Consortium for Complementary and Alternative Health Care (ACCAHC). She had been sitting in on the ACCAHC Board meetings as an observer since 2007 on behalf of Yoga Alliance. Now she will be contributing to creating educational content and programs which foster cross-disciplinary understanding within the integrative healthcare arena. On Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008, Dr. Terri Kennedy led a workshop for parents and teachers at the Frederick Douglass Academy in Harlem. The workshop was focused on how to de-stress and make a healthy lifestyle a reality.

- On Tuesday, November 11th, 2008, Dr. Terri Kennedy led workshops on Team Building and Effective Communication for the Staff Training Day at the YWCA of White Plains & Greater Westchester. Last year, she presented a workshop on Stress Management.

On Sunday, November 9th, 2008, Dr. Terri Kennedy presented at the 34th Annual Yoga Research Society (YRS) Conference. She presented a talk on "Yoga in America" covering trends in demographics, practice, industry and research. Each fall since 1975, YRS has brought to Philadelphia distinguished teachers, scientists, researchers, physicians, artists, and musicians to participate in its annual conference. The conference was held at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

- On Thursday, November 6th, 2008, Dr. Terri Kennedy was at The Sistah Summit 2008 facilitating a personal development workshop. She was a keynote at the conference in the past in New Mexico. This year it was held at the Doubletree Hotel Savannah & Daufuskie Island Resort and Spa.

On Saturday, October 18th, 2008, Dr. Terri Kennedy presented at the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) Conference in Chicago. The theme of the conference was "The New Frontier of Holistic Medicine: A Restoration to Wholeness in Healthcare." Her topic was a "Case Study Panel: Irritable Bowel Syndrome." Dr. Partap Chauhan from the Jiva Institute in Faridibad, India presented the Ayurvedic view and the actual client case. Christina Collins gave perspective from the Jyotish view. Dr. Kennedy provided an intervention perspective from a yoga view.
